This hostel is perfectly located for those looking to experience the vibrant nightlife, as it is situated opposite a very loud nightclub. It also offers great entertainment options, with lots of board games and musical instruments available for guests to enjoy. it is conveniently located within 5 meters of a doorway to an internal area, making it easily accessible. the hostel is close to everything, making it ideal for those without transportation.

I had an amazing stay at this 4-star hotel. The staff were incredibly helpful and went above and beyond to make my stay enjoyable. They even helped me organize tours and gave me great recommendations for things to do in the area. The free pancake breakfast was a delicious and unique touch. It was so much better than just the usual toast and jam. I highly recommend this place to anyone in search of a luxurious and comfortable stay.

This hotel is not a party hostel, but that's actually what makes it great. It has a peaceful and inclusive vibe, perfect for those who want to relax and be creative in their downtime.

Except for the perfect location, generally there is nothing to amaze me.

I absolutely loved the free pancakes in the morning at 1849 Backpackers! They were fantastic 😊 The kitchen facilities were well-maintained and it was easy to buy groceries from the nearby supermarket. The location in town was very convenient, especially since public transport in Albany is close to nonexistent.

The room was a bit cramped and had a musty smell, with old and faded bedding. The bed was uncomfortable and the pillows were horrible.

Everyone was so friendly and welcoming. The free morning breakfast was so nice. It felt very comfortable and like a home away from home.

The atmosphere here was so relaxed and friendly, with fellow travelers of all ages showing respect towards each other. The staff were also incredibly friendly and helpful, making us feel right at home. The hotel had everything we needed for a comfortable stay, from the brand new innerspring mattresses and quality linen to the large TV with Foxtel and DVD movies. We also loved the free pancakes every morning and the free tea and coffee, as well as the large garden area with BBQs for outdoor eating. this place provided enhanced comfort and quality services that exceeded our expectations.

Location, car parking and pancakes

The location of this hostel can't be beat, just a few steps away from the city center. the daily unlimited servings of delicious pancakes and friendly staff made our stay truly special. The colorful pot plants in the front garden also gave a warm and welcoming atmosphere.

Our room was situated right next to the kitchen which caused some noise and smells, making our night quite restless. there seemed to be some security concerns with easy access to the bedrooms from street level.

Huge building with spacious and clean rooms. Close to town center and the harbor. Good amenities including pool tables and laundry facilities. Friendly staff and fellow travelers. Great price for a historical building.
